All You need to know about the UPSC CDS Exam 2018

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will issue the official notification for the Combined Defense Service (CDS) II on November 19, 2017 (Sunday)
The application process for CDS 2017 will begin with the publication of the notice and all applicants may apply online until September 8, 2017
UPSC conducts the CDS examination for recruitment at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), the Official Training Academy (OTA) and the Air Force Academy (AFA) as directors.
This is a national entrance examination conducted twice a year, in February and November. All applicants are invited to review the eligibility criteria for the age and academic qualification for the CDS 2017 exam prior to completing the online application form.

Job Title: Combined Defense Exam (II), 2017 (including SSC Women (non-technical course)
(i) Military Academy of India, Dehradun – 145th session (DE) from July 2018 [including 13 vacancies reserved for holders of Certificate C (holder of NCC certificate)] – 100 vacancies (approximately)
ii) Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala – Courses starting July 2018 Executive (General Services) (including 06 vacant seats reserved for holders of NCC certificates “C” (naval wing) – 45 (approximately)
(iii) Air Force Academy, Hyderabad – (before flight) Training courses as of August 2018, ie number 204 F (P) courses – 32 vacancies (approximately)
iv) Academy of Officers Academy, Chennai – 108th CSS (men) Courses in November / December 2018 (provisional) – 255 vacancies (including 50 vacancies for NCC ‘C’
v) Officers Training Academy, Chennai – 22nd SSC Women’s Course (non-technical) in early October 2018 – 12 vacant posts (provisional)

CDS APPLICATION FOR REVISION – How do I apply for the CDS-II 2017 exam?

Applicants must apply online only by using the link www.upsconline.nic.in click here to apply
Applicants are invited to submit a single application, but if, due to an unavoidable situation, if they submit one or more multiple applications, they must ensure that the application with the full RID in all aspects such as candidate details, examination center , photography, signature, fees, etc.
Applicants submitting multiple applications should note that only applications with a higher RID (Registration ID) will be accepted by the Commission and fees paid against an RID will not be adjusted to any other RID.
Candidates are not required to submit a certificate in support of their claims regarding age, academic qualifications, SC / ST / CBO and fees, etc.
Eligible applicants will receive an electronic certificate three weeks before the start of the exam
The electronic certificate will be available on the UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in for download by the candidates. No admission certificate will be sent by mail

Nationality: A candidates must either be:

(i) a Citizen of India, or

 

(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or

 

(iii) a subject of Nepal, or

 

(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India, or

 

(v) a person of India origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii),

 

(iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India

Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal

 

A candidates in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination provisionally subject to the necessary certificate being given to him/her by the Govt. before declaration of result by UPSC

Age Limits, Sex & Marital Status:

 

(i) For IMA – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd July 1994 and not later than 01st July 1999 only are eligible

 

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy – Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd July 1994 and not later than 01st July 1999 only are eligible

 

(iii) For Air Force Academy – 20 to 24 years as on 01st July 2018 i.e. born not earlier than 02nd July 1994 and not later than 01st July 1998 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born not earlier than 02nd July 1992 and not later than 01st July 1998) only are eligible
